Sharing my penchant for horror and superheroes, I've been a fan of Justin Isaac's Halls of The Nephilim for some time. His blog is a masterclass in brevity, a trait some of us bloggers could learn from, and something he brings to RPG mini-games and supplements he publishes.

(1) How long have been blogging, and how'd you get into it in the first place?

I started blogging in June of 2010. At the time I was addicted to reading Tim Brannan's The Other Side and decided I wanted to have a cool gaming blog and share my ideas too. Originally the blog was going to be a Mutants and Masterminds blog detailing my own setting. That's actually where the url comes from. My nickname is Pun and I was going to call my setting The Punverse. I did do some stuff for that setting but soon expanded the blog.

(2) What do you blog about, and how frequently do you post?

I primarily blog about table top RPGs, but I do occasionally talk about other geek related things. I try to keep my social and political belief posts to my non-gaming blog, For the Love of Pun, but it sometimes comes through in my posts. My first several years of blogging I posted sporadically. I would say these days I average about a post a day (except during October when I go crazy for the Horror Movie Challenge).

(3) How does your blog stand out from all the rest?

The simple and sarcastic answer is that it stands out because it's the only game blog that I write and I'm awesome. Seriously though, I think my blog is different from a lot of gaming blogs because I have a love and respect for both the old and the new. Most of my posts have been OSR recently, but I also love things like Mutants and Masterminds and Cinematic Uniystem.

Justin frequently publishes 'Ash Wednesday' columns adapting monsters etc to Cinematic Unisystem or similar games

(4) What's the best (and worst) thing about blogging?

My favourite part of blogging is getting good or constructive feedback on my work. Seriously, it makes my day. On the flip-side, working hard on a post and getting no comments sometimes feels like a kick in the teeth.

(5) Do you have any self-imposed rules (or guidelines) for your blog?

As I said earlier I try not to be openly political. Honestly, that's about it though.

(6) Name one blog everyone should be reading (other than your own).

While he doesn't get to post as much as he likes because life is hectic, Jonathan Linneman's Monstrous Matters is a fantastic blog. He's a great guy and has some fantastic ideas.
